The purpose of this qualification is to prepare trainee teachers to teach in a range of contexts.
You will understand the role & responsibilities of a teacher, agree learning goals & planning, delivery and assessment of inclusive teaching & learning, investigate practice in your specialist area and apply theories, principles & models of learning, communication & assessment, apply theories of behaviour management in creating & maintaining an inclusive learning environment and models of reflection to evaluate your own practice. professional values, accountability to stakeholders and external bodies within Education & Training and understanding and contributing to the quality improvement and assurance
There is a significant practice requirement as this qualification will assess, and provide evidence of, competence when undertaking teaching and/or training responsibilities. It is suitable for those working or wishing to work as teachers/trainers in England. All learners, whether pre-service or in-service must have access to 100 hours of teaching. This qualification is suitable for those delivering education and training in any learning environment.
Requires 120 credits for full certification – optional units to be agreed.
Studied via distance learning and is also available as a group delivered course for organisations.
